Ocean Pad Featured in Gulf Coast Scuttlebutt

Ocean Pad was featured in the Summer July/August 2026 issue of Gulf Coast Scuttlebutt for its amphibious design approach to coastal living, flood resilience, and adaptable waterfront development.

Ocean Pad is proud to be featured in Gulf Coast Scuttlebutt, one of the Gulf Coast’s boating and marine lifestyle publications.

The article, titled “Amphibious Design: Ocean Pad Is Rethinking Coastal Living,” highlights our vision for a new category of resilient waterfront structures: amphibious platforms designed to adapt to rising water, changing storm conditions, and the realities of coastal living.

What the feature highlights:

Adaptive amphibious design
Ocean Pad structures are designed to rise with water instead of fighting against it.

Reduced flood exposure
By floating during high-water events, the platform is intended to avoid prolonged flood exposure that can damage fixed structures.

Guided return-to-place system
The structure remains secured and guided so it can return to its original position after water recedes.

Self-sufficient systems
Ocean Pad models can support solar energy, battery storage, optional backup power, and integrated water and waste-management systems.

Mobility and flexibility
Because the platform is not permanently tied to a conventional foundation, it can offer future flexibility for relocation, redevelopment, or changing site conditions.

Across Florida and other coastal regions, communities are rethinking how to build near water. Traditional construction often attempts to resist flooding, storm surge, and rising water levels. Ocean Pad approaches the challenge differently.

Our amphibious platforms are designed to move with changing water conditions. Under normal conditions, the structure rests on land or in shallow water. When water levels rise, the platform is designed to float vertically while remaining guided and secured. When the water recedes, it settles back into position.

This controlled movement is the foundation of Ocean Pad’s resilience strategy.
